About the research
RAICYCLE (Tecnologias Avançadas para o Processamento e Reciclagem Inteligentes de Resíduos) develops advanced technologies for intelligent waste processing and recycling. The work was carried out at the Research Centre in Digitalization and Intelligent Robotics (CeDRI).
My goal was a system for detecting and estimating volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in municipal solid waste. The main tasks were:
- Collecting and designing VOC detection datasets for training machine learning models
- Implementing classification and estimation models
- Testing and validating the models
